 WHAT IS VOYAGER?Voyager is a fully automated onboard chart management system that provides the mariner with a personalised database of charts, publications and Notices To Mariners (NTM's) organised in a convenient folio system. The Voyager service provides weekly updates to the ships index which contains NTMs and Tracings via Internet or Email. The Voyager Data Server compresses the data before sending it to the user to reduce the file sizes to a minimum. The ship only receives the files relevant to its chart outfit, further reducing the file sizes. VOYAGER FLAG STATE APPROVALS FLYINGThe TGNS Voyager service has been fully tested and approved by the UK MCA and Admiralty UKHO. We have also gained approvals from various other flag states and we are on a mission to obtain as many approvals as possible in order to assist our clients with the transition from the original paper Notices to Mariners. SPOS WEATHER SYSTEMSPOS provides the master with all relevant weather forecast information and tools to optimise his voyage planning. With today's technologies (computers, satcom) this is well possible and cheaper than routing support from a meteorologist onshore. Furthermore the master is responsible for the vessel and is best aware of operational interests and restrictions for vessel and cargo. Spos is installed on a normal computer with e-mail access. Via SPOS the master can subscribe to a weather forecast for his ocean and/or coastal area and receive up to 2 updates per day. All that at a fixed annual subscription fee so there are no surprises for the budget of the owner/manager. |
